Hi Everyone and welcome to my Soul Inspirations newsletter : "How to relax with all that's going on!"

If you want to become more aware of your inner guidance system, you must first learn to relax your body as well as your mind. When your physical state is one of calmness, your mind will become still, and clarity will follow. You’re probably saying: “But John, how can I relax with all that’s going on in the world right now?” My best advice: Meditate!

I know, you’ve heard me say this before, but it’s worth repeating since meditation will help you feel calmer and more balanced during this pandemic.

So, here’s the deal. I want to challenge you to meditate every day, even if it’s for only 5 minutes. You’ll feel more capable of dealing with being stuck in your house and handling your anxiety. Plus, it will ultimately build your immune system and alleviate some of these tensions you’re holding inside your body. Once that stress is released, some associated minor ailments may disappear as well.

The body and the mind are in a state of constant interaction. The process of blending the two, using the art of meditation, will ultimately make it difficult to differentiate between them. In other words, you’ll reach a state of oneness. When you achieve this state, you’ll be free to explore more of your spirit and discover a deeper understanding of your true self.

You’ll discover who you really are, and realize that every one of us is connected, and always will be, to the universal energies that are present to both help us and guide us. As I keep reminding you: When we’re connected, we’re protected!

Here’s a simple exercise you can do:

Get comfortable. Make sure you’re wearing loose fitting clothing to prevent any physical restrictions. Sit comfortably in a straight back chair with your feet flat on the floor and your hands resting on your lap.

Now let’s begin. I want you to close your eyes and just simply focus on your breath. Take your time. With each breath in, it will bring more and more relaxation, and with each exhalation, you will begin to let go of all stress and tension. Try this for 5 minutes, focusing on the regular rhythm of your breathing. You’ll naturally become increasingly relaxed with each breath. Just let it happen. Let it all go and relax.

If your mind starts to wander, just focus back on your breath.  If fearful thoughts come in, acknowledge them, and slowly watch them leave again. Notice how it feels to be completely relaxed.  Continue to focus on your breath while you let all that mind chatter slow down and evaporate.


Well done! You just meditated for 5 minutes. See how much better you feel! Soon you’ll learn to increase the length of your time in silence and relaxation, and ultimately, you’ll look forward to this special time with yourself and your intuitive soul.
