Hello Everyone & Welcome to my Soul Inspirations Newsletter "Are You Listening to Your Soul or to Logic?"
I’ve just returned from a beautiful and inspiring teaching weekend at Lily Dale Assembly recently, where I taught one of my signature workshops on the basics of psychic development and mediumship. It’s always wonderful to watch a student develop their spiritual abilities and to teach them how they can integrate the spiritual into their equally important physical lives.
Of course, these workshops are incredibly rewarding for me, but take a lot of energy. I have to prepare everything, prepare myself emotionally and spiritually, and then pack, jump on a plane, teach and return home all within a few days. It can certainly take its toll on the body, especially when flights are delayed and you end up getting home in the early hours of the morning. So, it’s times like these that I have to stop and take a moment to nurture my own body and soul. I make sure I practice my own routines, just as I did this last week.
I have my usual set routines when I get back from a busy weekend, such as taking time to exercise, meditate, do the laundry and other house chores. While those domestic chores help to ground me again, they don’t truly nurture my Soul. I find the best way to do that is through nature. I’m in the final stages of editing my new book “Bridging Two Realms” and by sheer synchronicity, friends asked me if I wanted to spend a few hours out on their boat on the ocean. When they asked, I said, “Yes” but as the day came I could feel myself gravitating towards cancelling, because of how much work I had on. Another friend offered some strong advice, that I really needed the boat ride more than a day at the desk! I realised she was right! There will be always be something in life that will try to pull you away from what you know you really should be doing for yourself. Did I need a long day at my desk to edit the next few chapters, or should I nurture my body, mind and soul for those few hours? It’s always a choice.
So, I gave myself permission to just stop – yes, to stop for a whole day and take time out to enjoy a beautiful summer day on the water. Being out for a day in the sun, with the healing salty ocean spray, no phone constantly buzzing to tell me about the next appointment, or the pressure of emails … it’s an amazing tonic to infuse the Soul.
I came back after this beautiful day refreshed, reinvigorated, rebalanced and above all feeling more like myself again.
