Spring is well upon us in New England.
With the warmer weather, people are smiling and more open as they greet each other in the street. The healing color of green is slowly transforming everything and will flourish and stay with us for the next several months. The sky is bright and it reminds me of a cobalt ocean. There’s a feeling of connection to everyone and everything at this special time.
The coming month of May 2009 in numerology resonates to the number ‘7’. You’re probably thinking, “Okay John… what does that mean?” It means so many of you might be asking the ‘bigger’ questions right now, such as: Who am I? Where am I going? Is there more to life than this?
Seven is all about getting quiet within yourself as you seek the answers to these weighty questions. You may feel drawn to seek out spiritual classes, groups, inspirational books, or just being with like-minded people. All the questions and feelings you’re having now are quite normal when we enter this special period.
Less talking and more doing
is the mantra for you during the month of May.
Instead of talking about joining a yoga class, trying meditation, going for that long walk in the woods, journaling your thoughts, or taking a class that you keep postponing.
Go out and do it!
Life has a way of stopping us from doing the things we know we should be doing for ourselves. It’s easy to say: “I’m too busy” or “I will start it tomorrow, next week, next month” Sadly time flies by all too quickly and opportunities disappear, so do what you know is best for your highest good.
To live life from your soul is a commitment and an ongoing spiritual practice. It can sometimes be challenging when the outside world is so deafening that it literally muffles your souls inner voice of wisdom. Many people often ask me how they
can become more spiritual? I wish there was a quick and easy
answer to this common question. It’s not something that can
be packaged up into a neat parcel by someone else.
It’s actually a total way of being.
Everything that you do in your life can be spiritual. How you act, how you treat yourself, how you treat others, how you treat the earth, acts of generosity and compassion, giving and receiving unconditional love is all part of being spiritual. There’s no one way to become spiritual, nor is there a quick fix to becoming enlightened. It’s both a process and a journey at the same time. Step forward and take that leap of faith towards your own spirituality – it all starts with that all-important first step.
